What do you know about report? How it is different from essay?

A report is a short, sharp, and concise document which is written for a particular purpose and audience.
The report can have any kind of paragraph. The report must have one main idea. The main idea sentence in the paragraph tells the main idea of the report. Each detailed sentence tells
more about the main idea. In academia, there is some overlap between reports and essays, and the two are sometimes used interchangeably, but reports are more
likely to be needed for business, scientific and technical subjects, and in the workplace. Whereas an essay presents arguments and reasoning, a
report concentrates on facts. Reports may have been taken from different
places. We may use encyclopedias
or other library books. We may interview people or watch television. We may get information from social media. We can also get information from a survey.
